October 7, 2022 — SAN FRANCISCO, CA — Learner-Centered Collaborative, a non-profit supporting schools and districts to realize a more learner-centered model of education, and Higher Ground Education, an integrated network of schools and technology which together enable structured freedom, rich content, and independent learning from infancy through adulthood across brick & mortar, virtual, and at-home learning contexts, are pleased to share that effective January 2023 all Altitude Learning platform partnerships will be managed and serviced by Higher Ground Education, owner of the Altitude Learning platform, streamlining the feedback and support loop among the platform design and engineering team and end-users.

“Higher Ground Education is animated by the view that Montessori principles are at the heart of the sweeping shift to self-directed, learner-centered, and mastery-based models of education,” said Ray Girn, CEO of Higher Ground Education. “We have valued the opportunity to serve a wide range of partners through our technology platform, and are excited that we’ll be able to deepen and expand these connections through a direct relationship with such partners.”

Altitude Learning platform partners will continue to experience the same robust technology functionality and support. The platform user-experience will continue seamlessly with all existing features and functionality, and with the addition of lesson planning functionality rolling out in 2023. Users will also continue to experience comprehensive and personalized services and support including:

  • Access to the Product Team
  • Opportunities to share desired future features
  • Options to participate in beta testing
  • Regularly scheduled check-ins
  • Quarterly newsletters with updates on new and upcoming features along with suggested use cases
  • A ticketing support system

This change allows Learner-Centered Collaborative to further focus on its mission to expand learner-centered ecosystems that empower all learners to: know who they are, thrive in community, and actively engage in the world as their best selves. With a growing list of partners and services, the educator-run non-profit partners with educators to define whole-learner outcomes, design meaningful learning experiences, and create the enabling conditions for their unique journey to inclusive and equitable learner-centered education.

“We are grateful for the work our partners have done and continue to do that puts learners and learning at the center,” said Devin Vodicka, Chief Executive Officer at Learner-Centered Collaborative. “Learner-centered education often requires both technical and adaptive change and our two organizations are now poised to offer best-in-class support in both these areas.”
