Use Assessment as a Tool for Learning Course Overview
Rethink the purpose of assessment in this course to be a tool for learning and learn how to leverage a variety of formative assessment methods including quantitative and qualitative data to modify a student’s path, pace or product and co-design personalized paths with learners.
COURSE MODULES
Modules will include videos, lessons, reflection activities, checks for understanding, additional resources and a performance task to apply what you learn.

Assess your own feedback and create a plan for at least 1 other person to give feedback to learners. |
Module 4 Modify path or pace |
Take formative assessment data (quantitative & qualitative) and create a plan to modify path or pace. |

Course Competencies
Assess formatively
I frequently use a variety of formative assessment methods, including self-assessment, to monitor progress and guide educators’ and learners’ next steps in the learning process.

Promote effective feedback
I create opportunities for learners to receive effective feedback from me, their peers and others to support the learning process.
Modify path or pace
I use quantitative and qualitative evidence to understand individual strengths and opportunities to co-design personalized learning paths with learners
