Spark Collaboration Course Overview
Learn how to support effective and equitable collaboration where all learners are engaged in the desired learning outcomes by building collaboration and peer feedback skills with learners, designing meaningful collaborative learning experiences and supporting students to navigate group dynamics.
COURSE MODULES
Modules will include videos, lessons, reflection activities, checks for understanding, additional resources and a performance task to apply what you learn.

Module 2 Develop collaboration skills |
Design at least 3 micro learning experiences that build collaboration skills including peer feedback. |
Module 3 Design for equitable collaboration |
Design an equitable and effective collaborative learning experience that includes interdependencies, assessment plan, roles, and grouping. |
Module 4 Navigate group dynamics |
Create an equitable plan for productive collaboration and conflict resolution in your learning experience. |

Course Competencies

Develop collaboration skills
I develop, scaffold, facilitate and where appropriate, co-design collaborative and cooperative group work and foster learners’ specific collaboration skills necessary for group work.

Design for equitable collaboration
I analyze collaborative group work to ensure that it engages and stretches each learner and builds toward demonstration of proficiency of specific skills.

Navigate group dynamics
I plan ways to recognize and address issues of different cultural norms and implicit biases among learners when they arise in collaborative group work.
Course Enrollment
Enrollment includes:
- 1 year of access to the course in the Thinkific platform
- Access to an online community of learner-centered educators.
- Access to team members available to answer questions within 48 hours.
- Certificate of completion upon finishing course

CONTINUING EDUCATION UNITS

Upon approval of your performance task receive 1.5 quarter units of post-baccalaureate, salary-scale applicable credit offered by UCSD.
