Course Overview

In this course participants will take on a learning challenge and reflect on their own learning experience. You will also dive into the elements that make a great project-based learning experience and distinguish them from traditional projects. Participants will be guided through the process to design a project-based learning experience with the goal of making learning more authentic but also personalized and competency-based.

Course Modules

Modules will include videos, lessons, reflection activities, checks for understanding, additional resources and a performance task to apply what you learn.

Module 1:Introduction to Project-Based Learning

Describe project-based learning and why it is an important learner-centered strategy for you in your context

Module 2: Project Inspiration

Develop a project seed

Module 3:Build the Project Foundation

Design the foundations of a project

Module 4:Facilitating Effective, Community- Connected Projects

Incorporate community connection and collaboration and opportunities for learner agency into your project-based learning experience design

Module 5:Amplifying Projects with Feedback and Reflection

Incorporate cycles of iteration and reflection opportunities into your project-based learning experience design while ensuring you are designing for inclusive and equitable access

Module6:Reflection & Planning for Implementation

Reflect on implementation of the project-based learning experience you planned
