Professional Learning Specialist

Danny Scuderi

Danny believes in the power of relationships to transform education from what it has been to what it can be. Some laughter along the way is helpful as well!

Prior to joining LCC, he spent 15 years in K-12 education as a middle school English teacher and K-8 principal, focusing on project-based learning, redesigned assessment strategies, community partnerships, and AI policy. He is a former National Poetry Slam winner and has led professional development workshops locally (Northern California) and nationally, including as part of Michelle Obama’s Beating the Odds Summit at The White House for first-generation college students. Danny believes that meaningful connections are the heart of learner-centered innovation. Combined with strategic decision-making and collaboration, schools can empower learners to thrive in the constantly evolving world around them.

He is currently partnering with Salinas Union High School District in creating a Framework for the Future, including a Portrait of a Graduate and 5-year Strategic Plan.

Danny lives in Oakland with his partner. He loves cooking, writing, playing impromptu songs on the ukulele, and has an endless supply of bad jokes.
