Paul Haluszczak

Paul Haluszczak found himself working in education by accident. After a quick stint as a data analyst for a large corporation, he decided to make an early career change with the vague goal of “getting paid to write.” Stars aligned, and he found himself in the deep end of the learner-centered education movement working as a communications professional with Education Reimagined.

From day one, he was enamored by the passion and work learner-centered leaders (including young learners) were doing to transform education in their local communities and beyond. Regardless of the models and practices being implemented (e.g. project-based, place-based, unschooling, etc.) or the governing structures at play (e.g. private vs public vs charter), every single person was “all-in” on putting learners and learning at the center. For Paul, a career change quickly turned into a lifelong commitment to support the creation of education ecosystems that bring people alive and enable them to see, feel, know, and act upon their unique gifts for the betterment of themselves, their communities, and all human and non-human life.

At Learner-Centered Collaborative, Paul amplifies stories that showcase the impact of learner-centered educational practices at the system and classroom levels. He also leads the design and implementation of the organization’s knowledge framework to optimize internal information storage and distribution. It’s the perfect mix of responsibilities that allows him to lean into his creative and operational (read: “nerdy”) interests.

Paul resides on the unceded territory of the Osage, Quapaw, Myaamia, Očhéthi Šakówiŋ, Kaskaskia, and Kickapoo peoples (colloquially known as St. Louis, MO) alongside his partner, Morgan, and pets, Milly, London, and Ruby. In his free time, he enjoys playing soccer and board games, weightlifting, reading, and nerding out on Personal Knowledge Management tips and tricks.
