Sonya Daugherty is in her 24th year of teaching and is a 3rd-grade reading teacher at Central City Elementary in Muhlenberg County.

She has her Bachelor of Science grades K-5 from Western Kentucky University; completed the 2002-2003 Kentucky Reading Project through Western Kentucky University; Master of Arts in Education, Reading/Writing grades K-12 from Murray State University; National Board Certification Generalist/Early Childhood; and Rank 1.

Sonya had the privilege of serving on her district’s Defense of Learning Pilot Team last year. She has a deep love of reading, and she is eager to learn more through LETRS training over the next two years.
